Life Groups

At Oasis we believe that Life groups are an effective means for spiritual growth and for building strong friendships. Life groups connect 4-10 people relationally for the purpose of becoming more Christ-like and for encouraging, strengthening, and supporting one another.

Meetings include discussions of relevant, biblically-centered topics. Those participating in a Life group often find the other members become some of their closest, most dependable friends — the ones they call upon in times of crisis.

Oasis offers men-only, ladies-only, mixed, and ministry-related Life groups.

Why Join A Life Group?

1. You will understand the Bible better in a Life group.
• Unlike a typical church service, in a Life group, you are free to ask questions, seek clarifiation, or add your own insights for the benefit of the group.
2. You will begin to really feel part of God's family.
• Most people who have be a part of a group say the greatest benefit is the close relationships and friendships that develop.
3. Prayer will become more meaningful to you.
• In a Life group you will learn to participate in prayer by having a conversation together with God. No one is pressured to pray, but as you become comforatable, you will be able to join in.
4. You will be able to handle stress and pressure better.
• Life groups provide excellent support in times of crisis, change, and stress. You will have a sense of stability and security knowing there are people who truly care for you and are committed to standing with you.
5. You will have a natural way to share Christ with friends, relatives, and work associates.
• It may be that some of your friends who don't know the Lord would never consider visiting a church. But those same people may be open to an invitation to a casual Bible discussion in a home.
6. You will develop leadership skills you never knew you had.
• As you share and participate in a relaxed Life group setting, you will discover your confidence and self-esteem rising. This will help you at work, at church, and in every other relationship.
7. You will deepen your understanding of worship.
• Worship happens anytime we focus on God. Sometimes that happens best in a Life group while praying and singing together.

They devoted themselves to the apostle's teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Every day they continued to meet together... they broke bread in their homes and ate together... and the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
